PM condemns Pak NA resolution
“By passing the resolution at national assembly, Pakistan has proved that it never accepted the victory of Bangladesh in the Liberation War of 1971, and they still have allies in Bangladesh,” the premier said.
She was talking to leaders and activists of Awami League-led 14-party grand alliance at Gono Bhaban, the premier’s official residence.
Since execution of Mollah on December 12, Pakistan drew huge criticism and condemnation from people of Bangladesh for its reaction over hanging of the Jamaat leader Mollah.
As part of its reaction, the Pakistan National Assembly Monday adopted a resolution expressing concern over the execution of Mollah who, it said, was “hanged for supporting Pakistan in 1971″.
Earlier, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told the Assembly that Mollah was hanged “through a judicial murder”.
Following the resolution adopted by the Pakistan National Assembly, Dhaka summoned the Pakistan High Commissioner in Afrasiab Mehdi Hashmi Qureshi and strongly protested Islamabad’s reaction, terming it interference in the domestic affairs of Bangladesh.
Vowing to continue with the war crimes trial Hasina today also said her government with the help of people would resist any kind of attempt to create anarchy by the opposition centring the trials.
She also condemned killing of numerous innocent people to save war criminals and said, “They (the opposition) are destroying the democracy of the state.”
“The government along with the mass people will resist violence with strong fist,” she added.
About the 10th parliamentary elections, the PM said the election will be held as per the constitution.
