Phensidyl, liquor, yaba seized from Nur’s shops
Police in a drive seized a huge quantity of phensidyl, foreign liquor, beer, yaba tablets and several sharp weapons from five shops of Nur Hossain, the prime accused of Narayanganj seven-murder.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Narayanganj police conducted the raid in the afternoon at Shimrail area of Shiddhirganj upazila in the city, reports our correspondent at the scene.
They recovered 3,500 bottles of phensidyl, 37 cans of beer and nine bottles of other foreign liquor and seven sharp weapons from five shops.
None was arrested during the drive as all the shops were locked, Md Zakaria, additional superintendent of police in Narayanganj, told The Daily Star.
Nazrul and his four aides, senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver were abducted almost at the same time after they left the court area by two cars in Narayanganj.
Six bodies, including that of Nazrul and Chandan, were found floating in the Shitalakkhya river three days later, and another was found the following day.
The family of Nazrul accused Nur Hossain, an NCC councillor and vice president of Siddhirganj thana unit of Awami League, for the abduction and killing.
