Pakistan Jamaat ameer's effigy burnt in capital

Activists of several pro-liberation organisations yesterday burnt Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq in effigy for his anti-Bangladesh statement following the death of top war criminal Ghulam Azam.
JI Pakistan organised several namaz-e-janazas for Azam in their country last Friday. During one janaza, Siraj reportedly said, “His (Azam's) death in a torturous environment in a Dhaka jail has ensured the downfall of “Firaun” Hasina's government,” according to a press release of Bangladesh Online Activist Forum.
Around 50 people under the banners of “Bangladesh Online Activist Forum”, “Jatiya Ganatantrik League” and “Kazi Aref Foundation” formed a human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club in the capital yesterday, protesting the remark.
Speakers at the human chain said the JI Ameer's statement again proves that Ghulam Azam had worked for the interest of Pakistan until his death.
Kazi Masud Ahmed, president of Kazi Aref Foundation, said the decision to bury Ghulam Azam in Bangladeshi soil was not correct.
