Over 100 rockets, chargers recovered

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) has recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunitions including around 184 40mm rocket shells and 153 chargers of rocket launchers from bordering Satchhari forest of Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj.
The elite force recovered the tank destroying shells and the chargers from a bunker inside the forest today, Rab media wing director Habibur Rahman told reporters at a press briefing from the spot.

“We have unearthed locations of six more bunkers approximately 10 to 15 feet below the ground level of the Satchhari forest. We will continue our drive for some days to recover more arms and ammunition from the forest and its adjoining areas,” the Rab official said.
Rab dog squad and its bomb disposal team jointly conducted the operation and recovered the arms and ammunition which were in abandoned condition in a bunker in the forest, her added.
Rab has been conducting a special drive for the last few days in the area, Rahman said.
"The drive might continue for several more days," he said, adding, “We are conducting drives at different parts in the area to nab those kept the firearms in the forest to be sure about the motive behind the incident.”
Asked about possible suspects or motives behind the storage of the arms and ammunitions, Rahman said, “We cannot say anything in this regard before conducting any investigation.”
No arrests however were made in this connection.
