AL barely involved in politics, says GM Quader
The ruling Awami League is barely involved in politics and are instead running the country with the help of the administration, Jatiya Party Chairman and Deputy Leader of the opposition GM Quader said yesterday.
The Jatiya Party chairman also called upon the government to ensure free Covid-19 vaccine for the people of the country during a views exchange programme with Cumilla district and city Jatiya Party leaders at the Jatiya Party chairman's Banani office.
He said the people of Bangladesh are eagerly waiting for the Covid-19 vaccine and if it is not available from India on time, then the government should tap into other potential sources.
On the current political situation, GM Quader said "Awami League is running the country with administration, they are barely in politics."
On BNP's presence in the political sphere, he said the BNP chairperson managed to get out of jail by giving an undertaking and Tarique Rahman lacks acceptance and as such it is difficult for BNP to survive in politics.
GM Quader said in the field of politics, the Jatiya Party is a potential political force. The Secretary General of Jatiya Party Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu said, "The Jatiya Party is the only party that has a tradition of development and ensuring good governance in the country."
Jatiya Party Joint Secretary Generals Fakhrul Ahsan Shahzada and Amir Hossain Bhuiyan, Organising Secretary Syed Iftekhar Ahsan, among others were present at the programme.
