Dhaka half marathon to be held tomorrow

An athletic event titled “Dhaka Half Marathon 2018” will be held tomorrow in the capital’s Hatirjheel area.

The event will be organised by “Dhaka Run Lords” and “Thousand Miles Expeditions, Bangladesh”, two organisations of Dhaka dedicated to running, with a view to highlight Bangladesh on the global platform from a new perspective.

The event, consisting of a 21.1 kilometres half marathon and a seven-kilometer mini marathon, will begin around 6:00am from Hatirjheel with 600 participants in both formats of the event. The closing ceremony will be held at the parking zone of Hatirjheel Police Plaza, according to a press release of BDRunners.

Both male and female participants from different corners of Bangladesh and from across the world will take part in the event, according to the release.

The Dhaka Half Marathon 2018 is powered by Nestle Bangladesh in association with The Daily Star, with Apex Footwear Limited and Milvik Bangladesh Ltd as the gold sponsors. The event is co-organised by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation and supported by The Base Camp Bangladesh and ZANALA Bangladesh Ltd. Star Youth is the Youth Engagement Partner of this unique initiative. Isotoniks is the drinks partner, Agro Organica is the food partner, and Radio Spice is the official radio partner of the event.
