No reason in report for Nov 1 blackout

Authorities today made public the report of a government probe committee that failed to ascertain what exactly caused November 1 nationwide blackout, which was the longest and widespread power cut in the country.

The probe report presented before the media at the secretariat today highlighted some recommendations to avert such disaster, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

Asked about the exact cause behind the load-shedding, State Minister of Power Nasrul Hamid said the blackout was caused due to frequency problem.

He, however, could not say how and where it had happened.
