Developing a good work ethic MEDICAL EDITION

Going into the medical profession has many setbacks, one of which is that it's quite a thankless job. But if you don't provide good service to even one of your patients, it can ruin your reputation for years to come. As difficult as it may be, you should try to stick to a strict code of conduct in your work. Here are some tips on that.

1. Pay attention

One common complaint every Bangladeshi patient has is that the doctor hardly spends any time listening to the problems and symptoms. Not paying attention to your patients' words can be fatal. So don't just prescribe random medicines as soon as a patient enters your office, listen carefully to what their issues are.

2. Empower your patients

People who are already in peril don't need you to be rude to them. Even if you're not a psychiatrist, you should be nice to your patients, always greet them with a smile, and try to make them feel better both physically and mentally.

3. Keep your appointments

Being punctual is extremely important in this profession. In fact, it can be a matter of life and death. Don't ever try to find excuses to keep patients waiting.

Having a good work ethic can make your life much easier, and your patients happier.
