Youth hacked to death

A youth was stabbed to death allegedly by his rivals over previous enmity at Batedhopa village in Kashani upazila on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Alam Mollah, 25, son of Matiur Rahman of the village.
Locals said there was a longstanding conflict between two groups--one led by former UP Chairman Mintu Munshi and another by Rauf Kazi of the area--over the issue.
Deceased Alam, who was a supporter of Rauf Kazi, recently joined Munshi group.
Police suspected that criminals swooped on the room of Alam and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot when he was asleep.
