Writing Competition

The International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) is co-sponsoring a new national essay writing competition for school children on the topic of ‘What Will Bangladesh Be Like in 2014?’ Interested participants must be under 18 and will compete for a top prize of a free educational trip to the United States, being provided by Pledge Harbor Boarding School in Gazipur near Dhaka.

The full essay question which is available at www.bangladesh2040competition.com gives three options for essay writers – to either write from the point of view of Fatima a present day 18 year old who has come to work in a garments factory in Dhaka and what her life will be like in 2040, or from the point of view of an American tourist in Bangladesh in 2040 or from the writer's own life.

Essays of up to 1000 words in English are being sought by the contest organisers. Awards will be available for three different age groups: age 8 and below, age 9-13 and age 14-18.
