WPB, BSD slam govt's decision
Workers Party of Bangladesh (WPB) and Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) yesterday criticised the government's decision to sign the Trade and Investment Cooperation Forum Agreement (Ticfa) with the US.
On Monday, the cabinet approved a proposal to sign the Ticfa.
In a statement, the WPB said the Ticfa will not allow Bangladesh to go against the US decisions regarding any international business treaties in future.
Terming the decision to sign Ticfa “against the national interest and serving the purpose of the US”, BSD leader Mubinul Haider Chowdhury urged the government not to sign the agreement.
The signing of Ticfa treaty would harm the software and pharmaceutical industries of the country, he said.
