Worker killed in Ctg ship breaking yard

A worker died after a large iron plate fell on him at a ship-breaking yard in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong early Monday.

Shuvo, 22, son of Matul of Thakurgaon district, was a cutter-helper of Shima Trading Corporation located at Madambibir hat in the upazila, reports our Chittgaong correspondent.

Samiul Alam, officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station, said an iron plate fell on Shuvo when he was working at the ship-breaking yard around 8:30am Sunday.

Shuvo was rushed to a private clinic in Chittagong city where he succumbed to his injuries around 1:30am Monday.
