The West Indies Under-19 cricket team refused to take field against Bangladesh today in the second one day international of a seven-match series over security concern.
The decision not to play the match, scheduled in Chittagong, came after a crude bomb was blasted last night in front of Hotel Agrabad in the city, where the West Indies team have been residing.
In the wake of the situation, Bangladesh Cricket Board rescheduled the match for tomorrow at the same venue, Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, reports our correspondent quoting Fazle Bari Khan, venue manager of the stadium.
The postponement came amid countrywide political violence that continues with a blockade of roads, rail and waterways as well as dawn-to-dusk hartal (shutdown) in the port city.
West Indies are scheduled to play seven one day internationals against Bangladesh in the series.
