Voters of SCC ward 2 to cast votes using EVM

The voters of ward no 2 in the Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) will cast their votes using Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in the upcoming election to be held on June 15.
Ezharul Haque, regional election officer of Sylhet division, told The Daily Star yesterday that they were getting ready to use the EVM in a ward in the polls, in line with a decision of the Election Commission.
“We have already proposed to use the machine at 20 polling booths of three centres in the ward,” he said adding that a total of 6,291 voters, including 3,529 females, of the ward will cast their votes in the election.
The total number of voters is 2,91,046, including 1,33,865 females, in 27 wards of the city corporation.
