Victim of assault at TSC gives statement in court

The victim of assault at TSC during the New Year's Day celebrations made a statement before the CMM's court yesterday.

In the statement, she said that Mamun and Muktar, along with 15 youngsters, followed her. When she along with her two companions arrived at TSC, the youngsters stripped her and took her to the Art Institute premises and assaulted her.

The lady was taken to the Metropolitan Magistrate Sirajul Haider Chowdhury at about 1 pm for recording her statement about the incident.

According to DB police, they are yet to arrest the principal accused, Russel, in connection with the assault on the young lady.

Sources in the DB said that several raids were conducted in different parts of the country to arrest Russel.

Another source in DB said that they are suspecting that Russel might have been hiding in the city. They have received a lot of information about him and police are verifying them.
