Vehicular movement resumes on Ctg-Cox's Bazar highway
Vehicular movement on Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway resumed yesterday afternoon after police cleared all the barricades put up by Jamaat-Shibir activists.
The highway remained closed since Thursday as Jamaat-Shibir activists put barricades at Satkania and Lohagara upazilas of Chittagong and Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar hours after Jamaat leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee was sentenced to death and thousands of tourists got stuck in Cox's Bazar because of it.
Dhaka-bound buses were scheduled to start at 9:00pm from Cox's Bazar yesterday under police protection up to Chittagong city, said Deputy Commissioner (general) Nurul Bashir.
