UP chairman hacked to death

Unidentified criminals hacked a union parishad chairman to death last night in Jhenidah.
The victim, Ruhul Biswas, 42, was the chairman of Naldanga union parishad under sadar upazila.
Police said a gang of criminals chased him near Khandokarpara in the town around 7:30pm. They attacked Ruhul and hacked him indiscriminately.
The criminals fled the scene blasting several crude bombs.
Locals took Ruhul to Jhenidah sadar hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
The reason behind the murder could not be known immediately.
No case was filed in connection with the incident.
