As a sweet delicacy or a pain in the derriere, we've all had “pera” one way or the other.” From the time we wake up in the morning till we go to bed at night, we go through countless “pera”. Though tracing the origin of pera is quite difficult, it is used to refer to trouble/ nuisance, and has secured a permanent place in the Dhaka street lingo. The word has lost its originality due to excessive use; however, it can very well express its intended meaning -- any type of trouble. You can use it in diverse contexts: your college assignments/ relationship woes /complaining parents or even the never-ending traffic jam on the city streets. Pera fits everywhere.
