Thwart AL conspiracy: Huda

Communications Minister Nazmul Huda yesterday called for unity of the people to thwart Awami League's conspiracy against Bangladesh. Addressing three public meetings at Dohar, Huda said AL had resorted to an anti-Bangladesh campaign on foreign soil as it never wants welfare of the people.

In the United States, he said, AL had launched propaganda, saying there were Taliban forces inside Bangladesh, and caused harm to the people. They also did it to tarnish image of the nation, he added.

The minister called upon the people to raise their voice against those forces who were out to destroy country's image, resorted to hartal and destructive politics, and hindered the pace of development initiated by the present government.

Earlier, the minister inaugurated electricity supply programme at Moury, Dhitpur and Chatrabog villages of Dohar thana under Dhaka Palli Bidhut Samity-2.

Under the Tk 1.20 crore programme, 498 subscribers will get electricity facilities.
