Three housewives murdered

Three housewives have been murdered in Bhola, Jhenidah and Chuadanga districts allegedly by their husbands.
Two of them were killed for dowry while the other over family feud.
Police recovered the body of a housewife at Char Tofazzal village in Charfashion upazila of Bhola yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Shahinur, 19, wife of Yusuf of the village, reports UNB.
Police and locals said, neighbours saw the body of Shahinur near the toilet at her husband's house in the morning and informed police.
Shahinur's relatives suspected that she might have been killed by her husband and in-laws for dowry.
Husband Yusuf along with his family members went into hiding after the incident.
In Jhenidah, a man on Tuesday allegedly stabbed his wife to death at Rupdah village in Sadar upazila.
The woman was identified as Jyotsna Khatun, 30, daughter of Nayeb Ali of the village, reports our correspondent.
Locals said Jyotsna along with her husband Alamgir Mandal, 38, son of Dalit Uddin of Baroikhali village, used to live at her parents' house at Rupdah.
Alamgir took Jyotsna to a crop field at the village sometime on Tuesday night and hacked her indiscriminately, killing her on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body yesterday morning and sent it to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Alamgir went into hiding after the incident.
In Chuadanga, a housewife has been killed allegedly by her husband at Shakharia village in Jibonnagar upazila for dowry.
The victim was identified as Rupali, a mother of one, and wife of Sumon of the village, reports UNB.
Quoting villagers, police said Sumon had been demanding dowry from Rupali's father since their marriage eight years back, and he started to torture her for it.
Worried about his daughter's future, Rupali's father Bachchu Miah gave Sumon Tk 3 lakh in phases but 'greedy' Sumon demanded more money from his father-in-law and started torturing Rupali again.
On Sunday evening, Sumon asked Rupali to bring Tk 50,000 from her father and started beating her up as she refused to do that.
At one stage, he hit Rupali with a brick in the head, leaving her critically injured.
Rescued by neighbours, Rupali was rushed to hospital but she succumbed to her injuries on the way.
Meanwhile, Sumon went into hiding following the incident and police arrested his father, Tetul Miah, in this connection.
