Three drown in Gazipur

Three people drowned in separate incidents in Gazipur yesterday.
In Nilerpara area, a man and his granddaughter drowned in a swamp after the small boat they were in capsized.
The victims are Md Abdul Khalek Sheikh, 60, and his granddaughter Sathi, 12.
Sathis friend Ema Akter, 10, was also in the boat. She, however, survived and is now receiving treatment at Gazipur Sadar Hospital.
Meanwhile, a class III student drowned while bathing in a pond in Kawaltia area of Gazipur.
The deceased is Nafiz, 10, son of one Abdur Rashid of the area.
