Two of the three suspected members of newly surfaced militant organisation BEM were sent to the Taskforce for Interrogation (TFI) cell in Dhaka yesterday afternoon for intensive interrogation.
During the interrogation, interrogator will focus on what BEM stand for, its leadership, manpower and the sources of the weapons which were seized from the three suspects, police said.
On August 22, police arrested the three -- Sanaullah Mollah of Bogra, Rafiqul Islam Rubel of Mymensingh and Barha Sheikh Babu of Gaibandha -- during a raid at their den in Thantania of Bogra.
Sanaullah Mollah and Rafiqul Islam Rubel will be interrogated, police said, adding that Babu will not be interrogated due to his illness.
Following the arrest, three cases were filed against the three and 15 others. The three are now on a 10-day remand in one of the cases.
“We have not yet discovered what BEM stands for,” Superintendent of Police of Bogra Mozammel Haque told the Daily Star yesterday noon.
Meanwhile, police arrested Dulal Hossain, owner of the house which was used as a den by the three, in Joypurhat early yesterday.
