Team Bangladesh wins Social Enterprise Challenge
Students of the Bangladesh Survey Institute are the winners of this year's British Council international virtual enterprise challenge. The five students from Comilla impressed public and jury alike with their business ideas to empower women in rural Bangladesh.
The vote was made on the basis of a short film introducing the main idea and concept of the business plan. GREEN ink has produced the film for the British Council competition the second year in a row and supported the students in planning and structuring their ideas.
The students explained the women, on how to use the materials. They provided them advice and guidance at any time. Weekly training hours are conducted to further support them. Once the women have produced some items, they will get a fee according to an agreed price system. The students then sell the products in their dedicated showroom and share the further profits with the women and the village community.
