Taramon Bibi to get monthly allowance

Taramon Bibi, the lone woman freedom fighter who received gallantry award 'Bir Protik', will get Tk 2,000 in monthly allowance along with other facilities.

The Bangladesh Muktijoddha Kalyan Trust has decided to provide her with the allowance from its own fund considering her heroic role in the War of Liberation as well as her current financial and health condition, said an official handout.

The decision was taken at the third executive committee meeting of the trust yesterday. Its Chairman and State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Redwan Ahmed presided.

Fisheries and Livestock Minister and Mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka, M Shahjahan MP and MD of Muktijoddha Kalyan Trust Nawfel Mia attended the meeting.
