Tangail comes under digital phone service

TANGAIL, Jan 27: A 3100-line Auto-digital Telephone Exchange started its functioning in Tangail today, reports BSS.

Of the lines, 3000 are for Tangail town and the other 100 lines for local loop for mobile telephones outside Tangail town, official sources said.

With the onset of the new digital telephone system, the line will now be operated in five digits by using '5' at the beginning of previous four digit numbers.

The modern exchange was installed by Chinese Company, 'GDT'.
