Stocks upbeat

The prices of the most shares on the country's premier bourse increased on Thursday after one-day break.

Trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) remained closed on Wednesday due to a holiday marking International Labour Day, known as May Day.

DGEN, the general index of DSE, rose 3 points to reach 3,654 points at closing of the day's trading.

Of the issues traded, 204 advanced, 54 declined and 14 remained unchanged.

A total of 70,030 trades were executed with Tk 171 crore changing hands.

On Tuesday, the trading at DSE reached 3,618 points after gaining 1.13 points.
