Stalkers attack houses, injure four in Noakhali

A gang of stalkers attacked four houses at Shankarpur village in Chatkhil upazila of the district early yesterday, leaving four people injured.
The injured, Md Harun, 14, Abul Hossain, 35, Md Aziz, 25, and Anawara 60, were admitted to the upazila health complex and Noakhali Medical College Hospital.
Police quoted locals as saying that students of Khilpara High School had an altercation with local youths Anu, Karim, Manik, Jasim and Kanu over teasing some girls of the school on Monday.
As a sequel to the incident, a gang of criminals swooped on four houses at Shankarpur village adjacent to the school at around 2:00am, they said, adding that the gang vandalised the houses, looted valuables and injured the four.
As villagers rushed to the spot and put up resistance to the criminals, they fled the scene, firing gunshot and blasting crackers.
