Kidnapped girl rescued

Police have rescued a Hindu schoolgirl, who was kidnapped about two months ago from Baufal village. Police rescued her from Matuail of Jatrabari in Dhaka on Friday night and arrested two people in this connection. The arrestees are Feroz alias Nayan, 20, son of Ruhul Bayatee of Birpasha village and Forkan, 25, of the same village. Family and police sources said, Feroz alias Nayan, wanted to marry the 14-year-old girl of class eight but her family refused the proposal. On February 5, a gang led by Nayan kidnapped the girl from in front of her house. The gang kidnapped my daughter and Nayan married her forcibly after converting her into a Muslim, father of the victim claimed.
Housewife murdered

A housewife was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband and in-laws at Satpakia village in Sadar upazila on Friday. The deceased was identified as Dilruba Begum, 35. Police and witnesses said Dilruba's husband Uzzal Miah and her in-laws stabbed her following a family feud, leaving her critically injured in the morning. She was first taken to Jamalpur General Hospital and then shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her wounds in the afternoon. Victim's father Dudu Miah filed a murder case.
Two electrocuted

Two people died from electrocution at Paranganj village in Sadar upazila yesterday. The deceased were identified as Jahangir Alam, son of Mofiz Uddin of Dakir Kanda village, and Sarwar Alam, son of Samar Ali of Baghadoba village of the same upazila. Officer in-charge (OC) of Mymensingh Model police station Fazlul Karim said, Sarwar got injured when he came in contact with a live electric wire lying on a road on Saturday night following a storm. Jahangir also was injured when he went to save Sarwar. Local people rushed the two to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries in the morning.
