Sit-in by non-govt teachers continues
The non-government primary school teachers continued their sit-in demonstration for the third consecutive day yesterday demanding regularisation of their jobs.
Several hundred non-government primary teachers started their agitation programme at Osmani Udyan in the city on Sunday.
At least seven teachers fell sick on the third day due to cold and rain in the previous night as they are demonstrating under open sky.
The sick teachers were treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Reiterating their demand for resignation of the Education Minister, the teachers vowed to continue their strike until the government realises their demand.
They complained the Dhaka Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) and Dhaka Electric Supply Authority (DESA) are yet to supply water and electricity at the Udyan.
