Shikdar to be brought to Khulna today

KHULNA, Jan 12: Ershad Shikdar will again be brought to Khulna today from Jessore Central Jail in connection with Jainal Murder case.

The cross-examination of govt approver and one of the prosecution witnesses Noor-e-Alam will also be resumed today in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge.

Four other accused - Liaquat Lashkar, Nazim Sardar, Tunda Haroom and Iddris Jamai - will be produced before the same court today.

Noor-e-Alam was brought to Khulna from Kushtia Jail on January 9 in connection with Shajahan murder case. He is being interrogated in Khalishpur thana.

Jainal Khan, one of the armed cadres of Shikdar was gunned down on April 22, 1995 at Skid Ghat River Jetty by Shikdar and his accomplices.

To hood-wink the police Ershad made a concocted story about the murder and one of his accomplices filed a false case with Khulna thana accusing Shikdar rivals.

The truth came out only after the CID took up the case for investigation which found Ershad Shikdar and his armed cadres directly involved in the murder.

Later, the then OC of Khulna thana recorded another case as complainant accusing Ershad and some of his armed cadres of the murder of Jainal Khan.
