Shibir calls hartal in part of Ctg for today

Chittagong (south) unit of pro-Jamaat Islami Chhatra Shibir has called a half-day hartal for today in Chittagong, Bandarban and Cox's Bazar following the arrest of a Shibir leader.
The arrested is Tareque Hossain, the president of the unit.
In Chittagong, the hartal will be enforced in Karnaphuli Police Station area of the city; and seven upazilas – Patiya, Chandaniash, Anwara, Banshkhali, Boalkhali, Lohagara and Satkania, said Nurul Amin, general secretary of Shibir Chittagong city unit, yesterday.
Kotwali police arrested Tareque at a residence in Chadgaon area of the port city early yesterday in three cases filed over vandalising public property, torching vehicles and blasting cocktails during hartal.
Police also seized some organisational documents from his possession, said the police.
Of the three cases, one was filed for blasting cocktails that injured schoolgirl Antu Barua in the city's Hemsen Lane on March 28.
