Set up PS at Kuakata for tourists' security

Several thousand people formed a human chain on the highway beside Kuakata sea beach yesterday, demanding setting up of a police station in Kuakata municipality.
Kuakata Hotel-Motel Owners' Association, local traders, Kuakata Shilpi Gosthi and people from all walks of life of Kuakata municipality, Latachapli and Dhulasar unions joined a one -km long human chain from sea beach area to under-construction pourasava bhaban.
They submitted a memorandum to the prime minister through the deputy commissioner (DC) of Patuakhali. Local journalists were present there.
Talking to the journalists, Convenor of Kuakata Thana Implementation Committee Abdul Barek Mollah said a full fledged police station is needed at Kuakata to ensure security of the tourists.
He urged the government not to set up the proposed police station at Mohipur, which is about 4-km away from the tourist spot.
