Seminar on Nationwide Broadband Internet Connectivity

A Seminar on 'Importance of Nationwide Broadband Internet Connectivity' was held on the 2nd day of BCS Computer Fair, 2003 with a good number enthusiastic audience in the Conference Hall of Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre. The seminar was organised by Bangladesh Computer Council in co-operation with Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) Task Force for Development of IT Professionals and Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS). The keynote paper was presented by Engr. M. Shahjahan Khadem, Convener of the IT professional Task force of Engineers Institution, Bangladesh. He presented his paper with a bunch of statistical analysis, technological aspects and clearly projected the spotlight on importance of nationwide high speed internet connectivity. Syed Margub Morshed, Chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), said that it would be a great achievement if all the people of Bangladesh are within the reach of internet connectivity. Karar Mahmudul Hasan, Secretary of Science and Information Communication Technology Ministry, emphasised on the concept of e-governance. He expressed that IT should be expanded over all part of the Government, unless development towards IT remains in a frustrating condition. Akhteruzzaman Monzu, Chairman of ISP association Bangladesh, presented the advancement of ISP's to expand the broadband internet connectivity all over the nation. Chairman of Bangladesh Computer Samity, Mohammad Sabur Khan and Chairman of BASIS, Habibullah Neyamul Karim also spoke at the seminar.
