Schools should teach morality
A seventeen year old daughter has killed her parents in a planned way. It has been reported that she was a Yaba addict and used to even spend nights outside with her friends. The parents became her enemies as they were trying to bring her back to normal life and she chose to get rid of them forever.
A newspaper reported that 27 of such incidents of killing parents by their drug addict children happened during the last one year. Nobody can deny that primarily it is the responsibility of the parents to bring the children up and always keep an eye on them so they may not go astray. But the fact is when their children start going to educational institutions, the situation changes. Unfortunately, the curricula of education in these institutions are not designed to take care of moral development of the students. The onus is on the government to look into the matter. At the same time, it must take urgent steps to control the easy availability of drugs. Otherwise, such incidents will keep on rising in the days to come.
