Schoolboy killed as dacoits open fire in Comilla

A school student was killed and three of his family members were injured when a gang of dacoits sprayed bullets on them at their house at Someshpur village under Choddogram upazila on Friday night.

The gang took away valuables worth Tk 2 lakh including 20 tola gold and Tk32000.

Mosharraf Hossain Chowdhury Farhad, a SSC examinee, was shot dead on the spot. The injured are his father Sayed Ahmed Chowdhury, 62, sister Jannatul Ferdous Popy, 18 and brother Parvez, 30.

Sayed Ahmed was first admitted to Comilla Medical College Hospital in a critical condition and then shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital yesterday as his condition deteriorated. He is a retired bank employee.

Witnesses said a gang of about 30 dacoits attacked the house at around 1:00 am on Friday.

A case has been filed with Choddogram thana.
