Russia praises Bangladesh for constructive foreign policy
Russia has appreciated Bangladesh for its constructive foreign policy aimed at solving all disagreements through integration and connectivity in South Asia.
This was stated by Russian Ambassador in Dhaka Alexander A Nikolaev while he was addressing a programme marking the National Day of the Russian Federation at Radisson Hotel in the capital on Saturday.
About exploration of gas by a Russian company in Bangladesh, he said the GAZPROM had finished the drilling of the Shipkail-3 gas well near Comilla only one month ago.
“The output of just this first well is confirmed at the point of more than 700,000 cubic metre of natural gas per day.”

On strategic decision to construct Rooppur nuclear power plant, he said now it is necessary to get the adoption of atomic project by the broad public opinion of Bangladesh.
On bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Russia, the ambassador said the turnover of bilateral trade was equal to $ 700 million in the last year.
LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam also spoke on the occasion.
