RU teachers protest crimes during blockades

Over 400 teachers at Rajshahi University in a joint statement yesterday protested the countrywide ongoing mayhem during the ongoing blockade by BNP-led 18-party alliance.
They also urged the opposition to stop killing people in arson attack in the name of hartal and blockade.
The joint statement was signed by 402 teachers of different departments.
They also condemned indiscriminate setting of vehicles on fire, arson of garments and removal of fishplates of rails across the country.
The teachers said that BNP is committing crime against humanity like those during the Liberation War in 1971.
They also demanded stern action against those responsible for such heinous crimes.
The teachers also urged the opposition to end the political deadlock in an amicable way.
The signatories include Prof Ananda Kumar Saha, Prof M Entajul Haque, Prof M Jalal Uddin, Prof Syed Shamsuddin Ahmed, Prof AKM Abdul Mazid, Prof Nazrul Islam, Prof Elias Hossain, Prof Sadekul Arefin Matin, Prof Mushfik Ahmed, Prof Shafikunnabi Samadi, Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar and Prof Abul Kashem.
