Road crashes kill six, injure two
Six people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents across the country yesterday.
Our Jhenaidah correspondent reports, an unidentified man, aged around 25, was killed when a train ran him over at Kotchandpur Railway Station at Rajapur village in Jhenaidah early yesterday, said the railway officials.
Our Moulvibazar correspondent adds, two kids were killed as a truck ran them over at South Jagannathpur village in Sadar upazila.
The dead are Shumon Mia, 12, son of Shomsu Mia, and Ahad Mia, 13, son of Ayat Mia. They hailed from the same village.
Our Jhalokathi correspondent reports, one man was killed and two others were injured after an oncoming truck rammed the motorbike carrying them on Khulna-Barisal highway at Bagri Bazar in Rajapur area.
The deceased, Sajahan Faraji, 55, of the area, was a shop owner.
The injured are Sudep Malaker, 24, a gold trader of the same area, and motorcyclist Manik, 26, of Jhalokathi.
Our Ctg Correspondent adds, Shahjahan, 35, of Fatikchhari upazila, was killed after a truck hit him on Dewanghat bridge in the port city.
Meanwhile, an unidentified woman, aged about 45, died as another truck hit her in the city's New Mooring area.
