Road crashes kill 10
Ten people were killed and eleven others injured in separate road accidents across the country yesterday.
Our staff correspondent reports, a 15-year-old street hawker, Uzzol, died when a local bus ran him over at Bijoy Sarani intersection in the capital.
Police arrested the driver.
Our Mymensingh correspondent reports, two persons were killed and four others injured when a truck rammed the CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying them at Bonkua village in Bhaluka upazila.
The dead were Abdul Karim, 21, of Tangail, the auto-rickshaw driver, and its passenger Selim Miah, 22, of Sagardighi. The injured four of a family are undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Our Gazipur correspondent adds, two persons died when a train rammed a vegetable laden shallow engine-run three-wheeler when it was crossing rail tracks at Daripara near Arikhola Railway Station in Kaliganj upazila, despite the bar was down yesterday.
The victims are Md Russel Mia, 22, the three-wheeler driver, and Rahim Uddin Gazi, 35, a vegetable vendor, of Narsingdi.
Our Khulna correspondent adds, an auto-rickshaw driver, Kamal Hossain, 45, Rupsha upazila, died when a bus of Satabdi Paribahan hit him at Power House Intersection in Khulna city.
A Comilla correspondent adds, an unidentified person was killed and five others were injured as bus of Eagle Paribahan collided head-on with a pick-up van at Chiowra in Chauddagram upazila.
Meanwhile, an unidentified woman, around 35, was killed and two children were injured when a tractor hit the CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying them at Barella at Debidwar upazila.
In another accident, Faruk ahmed, 13, son of Sultan Ahmed, died when a bus rammed his bicycle at Chhoygoria in Chandina upazila.
A Sherpur correspondent adds, Rumana Hamid, 25, of Jamaplur, died after the motorbike she was on collided head-on with a locally assembled three-wheeler, Bhotbhoti, at Bakchar Kantipara in Shreebordi upazila.
