Road connecting Bangabandhu Bridge to be widened

Communications Minister Anwar Hossain Manju yesterday told the Jatiya Sangsad that feeder road connecting Bangabandhu Bridge would be widened and improved as a part of national highway project, reports BSS.

Making a statement on a call attention notice by Mohammad Wajiuddin Khan (Pabna-3), the minister said that as part of the project financed by the World Bank, a road link between Pabna and the bridge via Tebunia, Atgharia, Handia and Hatikamrul would be completed by year 2002.

He said work of the proposed road would start in December this year.

The minister also observed that opening of Bangabandhu Bridge is considered as a milestone in national economic pursuit. He said all future road networks have been designed to connect the bridge.
