RMG worker killed 'by husband'

A garment worker was strangled allegedly by her husband in Kachpur area in Narayanganj district early yesterday.
The victim, Lucky Akter, 25, who was a worker of Opex-Sinha Garments hailed from Sujanagar upazila of Pabna.
Quoting locals, officer-in-charge (OC) Atiquar Rahman of Sonargaon Police Station said after getting married on July 17, Lucky used to live with her husband Rezaul Karim of Magura in a rented house in the area.
The police officer said on Sunday night the couple locked in an altercation and at one stage, Rezaul strangled his wife. Locals found the body in the house yesterday morning and informed police of the matter.
Rezaul went into hiding after the incident.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
