Rival's fingers cut off over cable TV trade
Criminals cut off three fingers of a youth following a dispute over cable TV business at Dargahpara in the city on Monday night.
The victim, Kiron, 26, son of Hamidul Haque of the area, was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
"My son Kiron worked as a lineman of cable TV operator Ripon at Guratipara and its adjacent areas for long. During the last few days, a gang asked Kiron not to extend cable lines outside Guratipara," said Hamidul Haque.
"As Kiron refused to comply, they gave death threat to him over mobile. Then my son left the house and took shelter at his aunt's residence at Sultan intersection in the city.
"On Monday night, the gang called Kiron out of his aunt's house, forcibly took him to adjacent Dargahpara area, and severed three fingers of his right hand," said Hamidul.
Hearing screams of Kiron, locals rushed in and admitted him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
