Relocation demanded as building subsides
Local residents and guardians of students of Bangladesh Bank Adarsha High School in Faridabad in the capital demanded relocation of the school to nearby colony as a column of the five-story building has recently been subsided.
Although the school's authorities are not using some parts of the building and vacated its fifth floor following advice in an inspection report by the Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology, guardians of around 3500 students are still apprehensive of any possible disaster, said a press release.
Zia Uddin Ahmed, chairman of school managing committee, said they took the issue with due seriousness, but could not yet relocate the school programme due to huge number of students.
