The country is experiencing light to moderate rainfall from yesterday and it may continue until Friday as a well marked low is staying over the western-central Bay.
All the river ports were asked to hoist cautionary signal number one, Sanaul Haque, a meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department, told The Daily Star over telephone.
The rainfall that began yesterday due to the depression in the Bay may continue for two to three more days, the meteorologist predicted.
Moderate downpours have already disrupted normal life in the capital as 35mm rainwater has been recorded in the last 24 hours until 6:00am today.
Besides, a highest rainfall of 54mm was recorded in Feni followed by 50mm in Shreemangal and 38mm in Sylhet, the meteorologist said.
