President for stronger ties with Asian countries
President Abdul Hamid yesterday underscored the need for taking diplomatic efforts to strengthen relations with central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan.
The president said this when newly appointed Bangladesh Ambassador to Uzbekistan Mosud Mannan met him at Bangabhaban.
Hamid directed the ambassador to ensure closer bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit through developing better understanding with the host government.
The president asked Mosud Mannan to take steps for promoting Bangladeshi pharmaceuticals, readymade garment and other products to the landlocked country.
Secretaries concerned of the president's office were present.
