Policy guideline to set up new UZ, police station okayed

National Implementation Committee for Administrative Reorganisation (NICAR) yesterday approved a policy guideline to set up new Upazilas, police stations and police investigation centres.

The approval came in its 88th meeting presided over by Prime Minister Khaleda Zia who is also chairperson of NICAR.

The meeting held at the International Conference Centre also approved establishment of hostels for female teachers at Upazila Complex under a project of the Education Ministry.

It decided to construct two more circuit houses, one each at Sylhet and Barisal, and expedite completion of work on circuit houses in Jessore and Kushtia.

Finance Minister Saifur Rahman, LGRD Minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan, Health Minister Khandokar Mosharraf Hossain, Law Minister Moudud Ahmed, Information Minister Tariqul Islam, Agriculture Minister Matiur Rahman Nizami, Communication Minister Nazmul Huda, Home Minister Altaf Hossain Chowdhury and Telecommunication Minister Aminul Huq attended the meeting.
