PM's rigidity on election issue
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is still rigid in her stance on how the next parliamentary election will be held. She is brushing aside the provision of caretaker government system and repeatedly saying that the election will be held in the manner of other democratic countries.
But political parties in other countries did not observe hartals for 173 days, wreaked havoc all around, and killed people with 'logi and boitha,' to achieve their goal of a caretaker government to supervise the general election. So, how could she expect that the opposition would accept general election without the supervision of a neutral government?
