PM reassures treatment costs for injured victims

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday reassured the family members of injured Savar victims that the government will bear the expenses of their treatment.
At least 365 people were killed and several thousands injured as Rana Plaza, a nine-storey building housing five readymade garment factories on its top floors, caved in on Wednesday.
The premier reiterated her government's stance to reporters while visiting injured people at National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Nitor), popularly known as Pangu Hospital, and Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
During her visit, the PM enquired about the treatment and well-being of the injured, Abul Kalam Azad, press secretary to the PM told The Daily Star.
She also ordered the doctors to provide them with proper treatment.
The PM went to the Pangu Hospital around 11:00am and stayed there for about half-an-hour.
Later, she visited the injured admitted at the DMCH.
Personnel from the health ministry and the PM’s office, accompanied Hasina during the visit.
