PM might get arrested once tenure ends: Rafiqul

BNP standing committee member Rafiqul Islam Mia said Saturday that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina might get arrested for irregularities and corruptions once the government's tenure ends.
Rafiqul made the comment at a discussion at Jatiya Press Club in reply to the PM's recent remark that the BNP Chairperson might be arrested if she had not followed the path of democracy.
The same day, the BNP-led 18-party opposition alliance brought out processions in different upazilas across the country demanding restoration of caretaker government system and immediate release of its detained leaders and activists, BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed told journalists.
In the capital, the BNP activists brought out processions and marched the main roads in Jurain area, said party sources.
