PM meets people
People of all walks of life - men, women and children on Tuesday exchanged Eid greetings with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Gonobhaban official residence, reports BSS.
The gigantic iron gate at the main entrance of Gonobhaban remained opened for all citizens of the republic who reached their beloved leader to say 'Eid Mubarak' without facing any kind of security barrier or protocol.
People in one file queued at the Gonobhaban vast yard beginning from Mirpur road in the west and ending at Prime Minister's portico where Sheikh Hasina in her traditional Jamdani saree stood hours together exchanging greetings with the visitors.
She received the common people from 9 am to 10 am, the diplomats from 10 am to 11 am and again the common people from 11 am to 12 noon. She also received thousands of people between 3 pm to 4-30 pm in the same venue.
Those who came to the sprawling green of Gonobhaban in the shiny winter morning and afternoon included minister to office peon, law makers to litigants, millionaires to beggars, city mayors to street cleaning, university vice-chancellors to primary school students, housewives to garments workers.
